Thanks to everyone who supported our weekend of Rock and Roll it was a great turn out and there were lots of happy faces. It's great to see all the regulars who attend but it was also great to have new friends attend from Tasmania and Western Australia. The best thing about Rock and Roll is the fact that everyone just wants to have fun, it doesn't matter if you're not a great dancer but it's the fact that you can meet some interesting and fun people from all walks of life.
Both dance nights were well supported and it was great to see lots of people dressed up in rock and roll gear looking very colourful and glamorous. It makes the night so much more fun when people get into the spirit of the rock and roll era. The Cruisers were great as usual and the floor was full all night. There were no complaints about the dance floor this year thanks to the efforts of the committee and Barry, Barb and Judy who worked tirelessly on Thursday washing, polishing and buffing the old floor. It was great to have Flashback play at the festival as they were the first band that we booked 10 years ago when this all started.
Thanks to the Fourmost for the excellent and creative floorshow they performed and we couldn't stop laughing the whole time, well done.
But the best day was Sunday where a record number of people turned up and the day was jam packed with entertainment for everyone. Three bands all performed to give the crowd a mixture of songs to dance to.

Thanks to Flashback, Who's that Cat, The Fender Benders and DJ Jeff. Okay! the Blues Brothers were a little disappointing and did not live up to their promotional material, but we do like to change things around each year and have something different sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.
The dance competitions went off pretty well and there were lots of positive comments. There was something for everyone, competitions that demonstrate great dancing and competitions for those who just want to have fun. Thanks to Malcolm Barker for his efforts in hosting the event. Congratulations to all the winners.
The classic cars are a special part of our Summer Rock Festival and there were some great looking and pampered cars.
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped over the weekend members and non members. It's great to have the support of the Rock and Roll community from all over the country.
We would like to hear from people with ideas of improving the weekend so any tips can be passed on to Barb and we will see what we can do. For a club that does not have any corporate or government backing we think it's not a bad effort, but there is always room for improvement.
Thanks to the management of White Eagle House for their support.
Until next year. Keep on Rock'n.
